Stuck? Here’s two deals for you

While I hope you’re not one of those who are stuck somewhere, yearning for home, due to the eruption of Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcano, here are two “perks” I’ve come across from two truly compassionate and sincere companies:

For when you’re stuck in a city in Europe… Free Lonely Planet iPhone Apps!

The guides cover where to eat, where to sleep, what to do and more. Excellent when you’re stuck in a city with nothing to do but twiddle your thumbs. It’s not a great situation to be in, but rather than freak out constantly about what you have no control over, make the best of the situation!

Costing £9.49 usually, the city guides that cost nothing now are Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, Istanbul, London, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Rome, Stockholm and Vienna.

Download them before 11.59pm (GMT +12) on Thursday.

For when you’re stuck in South East Asia… AirAsia’s RM99 tickets to anywhere in ASEAN!

If you’re stuck in Malaysia or Singapore because your flight has been cancelled, bring your ticket (to any European city on any airline for travel between 20 April and 23 May) to AirAsia’s sales counters, and you’ll be allowed to purchase a one-way ticket to any ASEAN destination for just RM99. That is an absolute steal – it’s just US$31!

Do yoga on the beach in Langkawi, go diving or climb Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, chill-out in Bali, get exquisite massages in Bangkok (although the Red Shirts are still demonstrating!), enjoy some peace and tranquility at the temples of Siem Reap… the list goes on and on!

You know how we always tell our co-workers when we get back from a vacation that we need a holiday to recover from a holiday? Here’s your chance!
